How to Apply:
To apply for a passport at the FESTAC Passport Office in Lagos, Nigeria, follow these steps:
1. Online Registration
- Visit the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) website: https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/
- Create an account or log in if you already have one.
- Complete the application form: Choose the type of passport you need (standard or official) and fill in the required information.
- Upload required documents: You’ll need to upload your birth certificate, National Identification Number (NIN) slip, and other relevant documents.
- Make payment: Pay the processing fee online using your preferred payment method. The cost varies depending on the type and validity of the passport (32 pages, 64 pages, 5 years, or 10 years).
- Fees: 32 Pages Cost: 50,000 Naira WHILE 64 Pages Cost 100,000 Naira
- Print your application slip: After payment, print the acknowledgment slip and payment receipt. This will include your application ID and reference number.
2. Book an Appointment
- Schedule your appointment: After completing your online application, book an appointment for biometric data capture at stated above passport office, The system will provide available dates and times.
- Print the appointment slip: Bring this slip with you to the passport office on your appointment day.
3. Visit the FESTAC Passport Office
- Address: No. 21 3rd Avenue, A Close, Festac Town, Amuwo Odofin Lagos
- Arrive early: Ensure you arrive at the passport office on your appointment date with all required documents.
- Documents to bring:
- Printed application form and acknowledgment slip.
- Payment receipt.
- Birth certificate or declaration of age.
- National Identification Number (NIN) slip.
- Local government identification letter or any other form of ID.
- Two passport-sized photographs (may not be necessary as digital photos are usually taken at the office).
- Submit your documents: Present your documents at the designated counter.
- Biometric capture: You’ll have your fingerprints and photograph taken.
- Interview (if applicable): Some applicants may be required to undergo a brief interview.
4. Collection of Passport
- Wait for notification: You’ll be notified via SMS or email when your passport is ready for collection.
- Collection: Return to the stated above Passport Office with your acknowledgment slip and a valid ID to collect your passport.
5. Processing Time
- The processing time varies but usually takes between 6 weeks to 2 months. Express services may be available for an additional fee and can reduce the time to about 1 week.
6. Tracking Your Application
