Transit Visa to Nigeria is a type of visa issued to foreign nationals who wish to transit through Nigeria on their way to another destination. It allows the holder to enter Nigeria for a short period, typically not exceeding 72 hours, without the intention of staying in the country.

Types of Transit Visas in Nigeria:

  1. Transit Visa (F3B): This visa allows entry into Nigeria for a maximum of 7 days. It is obtained through the eVisa system, Nigerian Missions, or Visa Application Centers.
  2. Transit Without Visa (F3A): This visa is obtained on arrival at the airport and allows for a maximum stay of 48 hours within the airport. It is available to citizens of countries that have visa-free agreements with Nigeria.

Eligibility for a Transit Visa:

  • Transit Visa is available to citizens of all countries except ECOWAS Nationals and other countries which Nigeria
  • Foreign travelers wishing to transit through Nigeria.

Requirement:

  • Passport valid for not less than 6 months with at least 2 blank visa pages for endorsement.
  • Two (2) recent passport sized (35/40mm) photograph
  • Confirmed ticket of connecting flight within 48hrs
  • Evidence of sufficient funds b. At Nigerian Missions
  • Passport valid for not less than 6 months with at least 2 blank visa pages for endorsement. vi. Two (2) recent passport sized (35/40mm) photograph.
  • Confirmed ticket to destination outside Nigeria. viii. Evidence of sufficient funds. Validity 48hrs for Transit Visa obtained on Arrival WHILE 7 days Maximum period of stay for Transit Visa obtained at the Nigerian Mission

Application Process:

  • Online Application: Apply for a Transit Visa through the online visa application system on the Nigerian Immigration Service PORTAL.
  • Document Submission: Submit the required documents, including your passport, visa application form, and confirmed ticket.
  • Payment: Pay the applicable visa fees.
  • Visa Issuance: Once your application is approved, you will be issued a Transit Visa.
